Diploma & transcript apostille
Used for work visas, foreign professional licensing boards, and credential evaluation for study or work abroad.
What you need
Most schools issue diplomas and transcripts without a notarized signature, which most apostilles require. A registrar's office can often notarize a copy directly, or I can notarize it at pickup. Either way, this gets sorted before anything goes to Olympia.
Where it was issued matters
The apostille has to come from the state where the school is located, not where the graduate lives now. A diploma from an out-of-state school needs that state's apostille — see documents issued in another state in the FAQ.
Common destinations
Foreign licensing boards (nursing, engineering, teaching) and university credential evaluators abroad are the most frequent destinations. Many require the transcript sealed directly by the registrar, not a photocopy — worth checking the receiving institution's exact requirement before requesting your copy.
